Sitemap Clusterizer is a Chrome extension designed to make it easier to analyze an XML sitemap by turning a long list of URLs into a digestible pivot table.
Sitemap Clusterizer was created as side project to help analyze clients or competitor sitemap and reverse engineer their SEO strategy. The tool is used to identify content gaps, website structure and hierarchy, content freshness and more.
Pivot table layout
The extension extracts the URLs from the XML sitemap and coverts them into a neatly organized pivot table.
Total URL count for each path folder
The summary table displays:
- The total number of URLs per path segment
- The earliest published or modified URL date (based on the <lastmod> attribute)
- The most recent published or modified URL date (based on the <lastmod> attribute)
- ‘Show URLs’ buttons to see the individual URLs inside each segment.
Show URLs inside each folder
Click the ‘Show URLs’ button to reveal the individual URLs found inside the path segment (or folder). You can open as many segments at any one time.
Total sitemap URLs
The Total sitemap URLs at the top of the Chrome extension dashboard shows the total number of URLs found in the sitemap.
Download sitemap URLs as a CSV
The ‘Download sitemap URLs (CSV)’ button does what it says on the tin. It downloads a CSV spreadsheet with all the URLs extracted from the sitemap. You can use the CSV list in multiple other ways.
